1. The Government of Djibouti issued on 18 December
2005 the following statement of support regarding the
recent Iraqi elections:

Quote: In a statement this morning addressed to the
Djibouti Information Agency, the Djibouti Government
is very pleased about the Iraqi legislative elections
that took place on December 15 and that have been
marked by large participation from all the communities
of the Iraqi society.

These elections show the significant evolution of the
political process in Iraq that, according to this
statement, will lead to the forming of a new Iraqi
government.

The Government of the Republic of Djibouti is taking
this opportunity to once again encourage and express
its support to the brotherly Iraqi People who are
engaged in this political process. End Quote
