1. (U) In response to reftel A, post contacted potential
invitees Salma Ali and Dr. Shahnaz Huda and extended an
invitation to attend the March 8 Washington Women's Forum
with First Lady Laura Bush and Secretary of State Rice as
scheduled speakers. Dr. Huda regretted that she will not be
able to attend the Washington Forum as she is attending a
conference in the UK.


2. (U) Ms. Salma Ali stated that while she will be traveling
to the United States to participate in the Commission on the
Status of Women in New York, she is undecided whether she can
attend the Washington Forum. She departed Dhaka for New York
on February 28. Her telephone number in New York is 718 261

2033. You can leave a message with Mr. Musharaff. Her Dhaka
contact number is 0175 012 326. She has been given the
telephone numbers for the Bangladesh Desk and for
coordinators in G (Reftel B). As she did not anticipate
additional travel to Washington, she has expressed concern
for possible defrayment of the additional costs of travel.
