1. On June 15, EconOff delivered reftel demarche on the
World Customs Organization (WCO) Framework of Standards to
Secure and Facilitate Global Trade to Clecy Lionco,
Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Receita Federal (the
Brazilian Tax and Customs Authority). Lionco will be
participating in the upcoming WCO meetings. Linco said
although her draft position papers were still pending final
approval, there was little doubt that Brazil will support
the WCO Framework of Standards.
2. This demarche and cable were coordinated with the DHS
office in Brasilia.
