On 7/8, Polcouns spoke with MFA Director of International
Organizations Julio Peralta about the President's decision to
issue an Executive Order allowing the U.S. to block the
assets of WMD proliferators and their supporters and prohibit
U.S. persons from engaging in transactions with them.
Peralta was doubtful that Paraguay had trade relations with
any of the enterprises identified in reftel but assured
Polcouns that he would consult with other GOP representatives
for confirmation.
