1. (SBU) Summary: On 21 July, Embassy Almaty received
Dipnote 10-2-1/1749 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
reporting that the Ministry of Health has been designated
the implementing agent for the BWPP.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Kazakhstan presents its compliments to the Embassy of the
United States of America and has the honor to bring to your
notice that the Ministry of Health of the Republic of
Kazakhstan was empowered to realize and coordinate the
implementation of the Biological Weapons Proliferation
Prevention program.

The Ministry avails itself of this opportunity to renew to
the Embassy the assurances of its highest consideration.
