SUBJECT: BOUTEFLIKA'S MESSAGE TO KING ABDALLAH FOLLOWING
THE ATTACKS

1. Following the bombings in Amman which killed 59 people
and wounded 96, President Abelaziz Bouteflika sent a
condolence message November 11 on behalf of the Algerian
people to King Abdallah II. Bouteflika wrote, "It is with
profound sadness and affliction that I have learned about the
painful news of the tragedy that just struck your
country....Those acts have generated a climate of extreme
sadness since innocent people were made victims."

2. Bouteflika continued, "Those criminal acts, which are
condemned and considered evil by all religions and laws, are
deeds of sick souls guided by a morbid and heinous blindness
which has turned into tools of destruction, massacres and
terror around the world. Algeria, which suffered from
torments committed by criminal hands and ill hearts,
understands your suffering and supports you in this terrible
ordeal. Algeria denounces these barbaric acts which targeted
stability and sought to spread turmoil and anarchy in a
country which managed to preserve its security and stability
in a troubled environment. Algeria remains convinced of
Jordan's capacity to meet these challenges and re-establish
security..."
