Vatican Office Director for Disarmament Paolo Conversi noted
July 12 the Holy See's strong support for the Proliferation
Security Initiative (PSI),as evidenced by the participation
of the Papal Nunciature to Poland at he First Anniversary
Meeting for the PSI in Krakw in May. Conversi accepted
reftel points and sid the Holy See hoped that the PSI would
complemnt rather than duplicate UN non-proliferation
eforts. He emphasized the Vatican's strong support fr
non-proliferation, and its interest in U.S. thnking leading
up to the 2005 NPT Review Conferene.
