She will be playing an important role in shaping opinions during the Dutch EU Presidency and beyond. She is a talented, young Dutch diplomat, open to the U.S. but her background is solely on EU issues. A visit to the U.S. would deepen her understanding of our foreign policy and her affinity for the transatlantic relationship. Goal is to invest in someone likely to rise to senior levels of the Dutch MFA. Fits our long-range mission of building a cadre of transatlantic supporters among younger Dutch policymakers, who, by age and training, are more disposed towards EU than NATO.
