1. (C) MFA UN Political and Judicial Chief, Pieter Ramaer,
confirmed that the GoNL does not support the unofficial
Palestinian General Assembly resolution. Ramaer stated EU
missions met in New York yesterday to discuss the draft. EU
opinion was divided, and no consensus was reached. The Dutch
are discussing internal EU strategy with the UK, which Ramaer
stated also opposes the draft. Noting that reftel points
were primarily political, Ramaer reported that the GoNL would
prefer to find a legal basis to oppose the draft resolution.
