1. (C) King Hamad of Bahrain made a three-hour visit to
Kuwait February 28. His main purpose was to seek support for
the Saudi-Bahraini proposal to reform the Arab League,
according to MFA Undersecretary Khaled al-Jarallah, who
confirmed to Charge that the GCC states would support the
proposal at the upcoming AL Ministerial in Cairo.
2. (U) The King was received with honors, paid a call on the
Amir and engaged substantively with Prime Minister Shaykh
Sabah.
