On November 23, Ambassador presented ref A demarche to MFA
U/S Abdullah Rashid Al-Noaimi asking the UAEG to commit to
providing Iraq with comparable debt relief to that provided
by the Paris Club and providing suggested language for a
public statement to that effect. Al-Noaimi thanked
Ambassador for the suggested language and reiterated that the
UAEG would provide comparable debt relief to Iraq. He was
not able to specify when the UAEG would issue its public
statement. Post will continue to follow-up with the UAEG on
this issue and will report when the UAEG issues its
statement.
