1. (SBU) Acting DCM chaired the monthly meeting of Post's
Homeland Security Working Group December 29. Visas Viper
meeting reported septel.

2. (SBU) RSO briefed that the Embassy was already in
heightened security status before DHS raised the threat level
to Orange; all appropriate measures are in place and GOK
remains very responsive to our requests.

3. (SBU) Consul briefed that USVISIT program will take
effect in the United States on January 5. Embassy began
collecting biometric data from visa applicants on November
22. CONS had sent a dipnote to MFA regarding the USVISIT
program; it will post information on the Embassy webpage and
provide it to all visa applicants.

4. (C) There was discussion of a letter from the
Transportation Security Administration to Kuwait Airways (KA)
listing six KA aircrew members who are no longer permitted to
fly to the United States. Post shared the contents of that
letter with MFA December 28. CONS agreed to check whether
the six named individuals' visas have been revoked.
