1. Post conveyed Reftel note verbale to Kuwait MFA on 19
July inviting the GOK to designate a representative for
appointment to the Council for International Cooperation
(CIC) in Iraq. MFA confirmed 21 July that U/S Amb Khaled
Al-Jarallah has the request under consideration. We
anticipate a response by 22 July, expect that Kuwait will
actively participate in CIC membership, and will report the
official response when received.
