1. (U) On July 17, A/Polcouns conveyed reftel points on the
July 25 meeting of the CWC's Conference of State's Parties to
Ali Al-Ayed, personal aide to Foreign Minister Muasher,
encouraging Jordanian participation at the meeting and the
GOJ's support for the candidacy of Ambassador Pfirter as mew
OPCW DG. Al-Ayed said that he would convey the information
to the appropriate senior GOJ officials and let us know
Jordan's position as soon as possible.
