ARMS TO TERRORISTS DELIVERED TO JORDAN

1. (S) On May 11, upon receipt of NIACT precedence message,
poloff/duty officer passed reftel information regarding the
impending 5/12 flight of a suspected arms-laden Iranian cargo
plane to Ambassador Mohammed Shahankari, Director of Foreign
Minister Muasher's Private Office. Shahankari conferred with
Acting FonMin Shaher Bak, and then, in Poloff's presence,
instructed his MFA staff to immediately share the information
with the appropriate GOJ authorities. As the meeting
concluded, Shahankari told poloff "If we receive a request
for clearance from this flight, we will say no. Don't worry."
